Midwifery Services

Includes:

Collaborative, individualized, inclusive care is built into my practice.

What does this mean for you?

That I acknowledge that everyone comes from different walks of life different cultures, race, religious backgrounds, sexual orientation, gender identity and this all shapes who you are and the care I give is not just based on the physical health but who you are as a person. This is why I will not only focus on your physical health but spiritual, emotional, and mental health are equally important. My goal for you is that in having this type of care you can take ownership of the decisions you get to make with your family to empower you to have a healthy and trauma free pregnancy and birth experience!

As a Licensed Midwife, my scope of practice only allows me to take healthy low risk clients. This is why its very important to start your first appointment with a thorough visit. Attentive prenatal care is the best way to avoid and/or recognize complications and help us prevent them from progressing.

This will also give you the best chance in staying low-risk and with continuing your goal to birth at home.

Prenatal Care

We will begin your care with an Initial Prenatal appointment. This visit will include:

  • Reviewing your medical history

  • Creating an ER care plan

  • Physical exam to know your baseline

  • Routine Lab work

  • Reviewing/ signing informed consents

All of your visits will take place in the comfort and safety of your home. Each visit is about 45mins-1hr with the exception of the initial visit being the longest 1.5-2hrs.

I provide holistic care as a first line of support, addressing common pregnancy concerns through nutrition, herbs, natural supplements, homeopathy, and bodywork. However, I am also open to recommending allopathic care and referring you to an OB or other healthcare providers when necessary.

During each prenatal visit, we’ll document your vitals, perform a urinalysis dipstick, and offer routine labs if needed. We'll also check on your baby’s growth and well-being, including palpating position, measuring your belly, and listening to heart tones. Each visit also includes time for any questions, concerns, and education about your pregnancy and overall wellness.

Homebirth & Waterbirth

Home Birth

What to Expect:

During early labor, I’ll triage you over the phone or text to offer recommendations for progressing to active labor. Once you're in active labor, I’ll arrive with another licensed midwife and/or birth assistant, calmly prepared with all necessary birth equipment. I'll assess your and your baby’s vitals, monitor labor progress, and ensure that everything stays within low-risk limits, allowing me to catch any complications early.

I respect the level of support you need during labor—whether it’s hands-on assistance or minimal intervention. I believe in letting the physiological process unfold naturally, encouraging you to move freely and stay nourished and hydrated for smoother progress. Waterbirth is also an option in my practice, providing pain relief and relaxation during active labor.

After birth, I’ll ensure you and your baby are transitioning well and have all necessary equipment on hand if the baby needs assistance with breathing. I avoid rushing to cut the umbilical cord to allow for a smooth transition and continued skin-to-skin bonding. I’ll assist with the natural delivery of the placenta and, if necessary, manage any excess bleeding with medications. I stay for 3-5 hours post-birth to ensure both of you are stable, assist with breastfeeding, and complete a full newborn exam right at your side, without taking your baby away.

Postpartum Care

I strongly believe that excellent, attentive postpartum care is key to reducing the risk of postpartum depression, supporting full recovery, and helping your baby transition smoothly into the world.

After the birth, you’ll be settled in bed with detailed postpartum instructions. As long as you and your baby are stable, I’ll typically head home within 3-4 hours, but I’ll remain available for 24-hour phone support until your 6-week postpartum visit.

Home visits include:

  • Checking vitals for both you and baby

  • Assessing healing and recovery (sutures, uterus, breasts)

  • Evaluating mental and emotional well-being

  • Offering referrals to additional support services for your postpartum journey
