Welcome! I’m so grateful you're here today!

I'm a first-generation Mexican-American, born and raised in Southern California on the traditional lands of the Tongva people. My family's roots run deep in Zacatecas, Mexico, and my heritage has profoundly shaped both who I am and the way I care for others.

Although my journey into midwifery officially began in 2015, I now realize this path started long before I ever stepped into midwifery school.

Growing up, I always knew about my paternal grandmother, Magdalena Ruiz—our beloved "Mama Nena." She was the traditional midwife in her community in Zacatecas and cared for generations of women and families through pregnancy, birth, and healing.

As one of the first traditional midwives in her town to receive formal nursing training, she beautifully bridged traditional knowledge with modern healthcare. Even as a child, I admired her legacy, though I never imagined it would one day become part of my own story.

Years later, while casually watching videos online, I came across a home birth that completely changed the course of my life. Watching that family welcome their baby with such peace, strength, and connection awakened something deep within me. I felt an undeniable calling to become a midwife. Looking back, it felt as though I was being invited to continue the work my grandmother had begun. From that moment forward, I knew I wanted to dedicate my life to supporting women and families through one of life's most transformative experiences.

While attending midwifery school, I also worked as a birth doula and childbirth educator, supporting families in both hospital and home birth settings. Those experiences confirmed that birth is about far more than delivering babies—it's about building relationships, providing education, protecting physiologic birth whenever possible, and helping families feel confident in their own decisions.

As my education and experience grew, so did my understanding of reproductive health. I realized that truly caring for the reproductive body means looking beyond pregnancy alone. Hormones, nutrition, pelvic balance, the nervous system, emotional well-being, and physical alignment all influence how we experience fertility, pregnancy, birth, and postpartum recovery.

That understanding led me to expand my training in functional nutrition, reproductive wellness, body balancing, and integrative reproductive bodywork.

One of the most meaningful parts of this journey has been reconnecting with the traditional abdominal bodywork practiced within my family's lineage, known as sobadas. Learning these techniques and integrating them alongside evidence-informed midwifery care has allowed me to honor my heritage while offering thoughtful, whole-person care that supports the reproductive body through every stage of life.

Today, my practice reflects both my clinical training and the values that have shaped me personally. I believe the best care is collaborative. My role is not to make decisions for you, but to educate, guide, and walk alongside you as you make informed choices that align with your values and goals. Every person deserves to feel seen, heard, respected, and genuinely cared for.

Outside of my practice, I'm happiest when I'm outdoors—whether I'm hiking, swimming in the ocean, traveling, or simply soaking up the California sunshine. My husband and I love exploring new places together, and our miniature schnauzer, Miley, keeps us laughing every day. These moments remind me to slow down, stay grounded, and appreciate the beauty found in everyday life.

Thank you for taking the time to learn a little about me. It is truly an honor to be considered as part of your journey, and I look forward to supporting you with compassion, respect, and wholehearted care.
